We (pictured above) have never met... [courtney & jj on the left -and- erika & chance on the right]but the four of us are about to get in a truck with a pull-behind camper in tow and head to Round Top, TX.
Courtney secured one of the last campgrounds in the area here. I've already decided that a fire-side scary story session is a must... already praying that the Artesian RV Park isn't as dark and mysterious as it looks. I will admit when she sent me the link I had a nervous laugh that took a few minutes to dissipate.
We are both already dodging these questions: "you met online?" "you are staying in a camper with someone you met online?"... and YES, folks it is indeed true. It's called adventure... and we are all for it! So we are heading to Texas to visit our new "internet" friends and to shop like a bunch of crazy people.
What's on our list:
D'ette Cole's Clutter. [really looking most forward to this]
Zapp Hall via Garden Antqs Vintage. She (Theresa, the girl behind the blog) is so great - she emailed me some tips today and she has a whole post dedicated to show advice... check it out if you are going!

Another fun blog about Round Top.
In addition to the shopping, I'm also hoping to meet Carolina & Joni... and am thrilled to get to pass thru Houston in general! We're also stopping in New Orleans to spend the night with friends - and hopefully gonna check out The Green Project and maybe The Bank! I also can't wait to meet Burkly Deluxe, check out Found and maybe put on a glamorous scarf + sunglasses and ride around in Courtney's car!
And I can't leave out my precious most-patient traveling companion and the part of the trip that he is looking most forward to:
Working on a playlist for our adventure... Courtney pack your boombox! There's Willy, Waylon, and so much more... it's gonna be fun!!!!

Hilarious!! First let me say, I haven't looked at that picture of Artesian RV since the day I sent you the link. OMG it is SO scary! Just remember, we'll be staying in a field of bluebonnets, which can't be THAT bad.
You asked if they have Internet....ummmm, wellll here is a list of their "amenities":
Computer Data Port Available 24 hr.
Fax Available
Phone Jack Sites
...we could always send a fax. Just sayin'

Ok, everything looks really WONDERFUL with the exception of 2 things... a) the RV park building & b) the chuckie doll heads (please tell me you aren't looking for those? You could probably find those in Grammy's "junk room". Also, you need to add vintage fabric to your list for your sister... for clothing for her little girls & boy or just to throw on a table when entertaining... ok, there's my list to add to your list! I can't wait to hear about your adventure! I certainly hope you'll send me a fax from the RV park. Y'all are fun! I want to do this... oh wait, it might be too late! :)

Can't wait to see a picture of the two of you in that field of bluebonnets. How beautiful would that be?! And what a fun adventure for you both [and husbands].
You'll come back as two-steppin' cowgirls with lassoin'cowboys...just don't start a chewin' "tobacca"...

What a great blog! I have just discovered you and love your posts - the one on your road trip is the best, though! You are an adventurer - I have gone to Round Top and stayed in dumps before, and I thought I was brave! Have a great time - come visit hill country house sometime! Ann

So close but yet so far. I'm heading to Austin on Saturday and thought I could hit Roundtop on the way home. Bummed that it ends at 4:00pm. I'll have to live vicariously.

Miss Havisham (Leslie) somehow I knew you'd love those broken fingers and creepy doll heads! :)
We are looking forward to our trip - thanks for all the feedback - I probably won't be blogging much - but Courtney might bring her computer - so if she updates... I'll update... but remember we are not sure there is wireless internet... if we don't return on Monday - put out an APB on the Artesian for 4 young lovers lost in shopping land.

Thanks for the shout out!! You guys (oh that's right I'm in Texas, ya'll...) are going to have a blast. As you know, I've pre-checked out the fields and there are scores of great dealers. You also must check out Leftover's Antiques Shop on Hwy 290 right before you get into Brenham, you'll be blown away with their displays (their website is on my blog)! Love that place. Also, D'Ette sold the Clutter show a while back to the Schwartz Sisters, she does still help them though. Can't wait to meet ya'll, Theresa

How did you end up plnning a trip with people that you met on the internet. Is this a website or group that you are involved in? I really am interested, please let me know, thanks

Be glad you aren't from Round Top! I grew up there, and for locals, the antique fair each fall and spring is nothing but traffic, traffic, traffic. We have to close school for two days so the buses don't have to run.

I cannot tell why this heart languishes in silence. It is for small needs it never asks, or knows or remembers. Do you understand?

That’s a cool project. You have inspired me to adapt this project for my high school level design class.
