{Daddy Boy with his girls}
I have a very cool dad who I appreciate very much... I dug out some old pictures that I thought would bring a smile to his face... (and if not, I'm sure my mom and sister will chuckle)
Here he looks sort of like an ax-murderer, but I think it was just the era of "scary mustache, caterpillar eyebrows, and scrappy long hair". He likes to watch tv (notice he's not looking at us or the camera). I imagine that mom laid us two tiny baby birds next to him for a quick photoshoot.
Me & Daddy Boy (on the far right- I'm the really cool one in the black Hard Rock Cancun tee shirt and Keds (no laces)), hanging out with our favorite friends in the whole world. My favorite part of this picture is Whitney (over my shoulder) all of maybe 11 years old... acting as if she's gonna sneak that Miller Lite right off the table. And Anne (in foreground on her own father's lap) - Anne, I always loved that outfit... looks like you have a fresh "Connie perm" too.
Daddy Boy "Holiday Freak"... the man starts planning Christmas in October. Itinerary is drafted up, meals are decided upon, shopping begins. He gives the best (most thoughtful) gifts and usually works himself into a frenzy with the holiday dinners. Very Clark Griswold-ish around our house during the holiday season.
He is the most creative and determined man I know. He has that "where there's a will, there's a way" mentality. I also have him to thank for my high blood pressure and stressed-out-99%-of-the-time mentality.
Daddy Boy's Girls
And just because I found this hilarious picture (I'm on the left) in my file labeled "old family pictures". I guess it is relevant because any father who can put up with all sorts of "girly stuff" has to be pretty darn cool.
Here are 5 things I'd buy for my dad this Father's Day if I could (but since I can't let's just pretend):
1. Restoration Hardware's Easton Sofa
3. Visual Comfort's Large Chunky Urn lamp in Antique Brass
4. Vintage Mont Blanc Meisterstuck fountain pen
5. A rug for under your new sofa, 1st Dibs
Hope you like your picks... the designer in me got the best of me on #1, #3, and #5... but I think you'll appreciate them too.
LYDB (that is: "love you daddy boy" and is how he signs all emails and notes) see you on Thursday!!!!! Can't wait!!
xoxo
My dad, too, had a scary mustache. Love the pics. Happy Birthday/engagement anniversary!

I cannot believe I finally made it onto you blog (although I must say this was not exactly how I hoped it would happen- I sort of envisioned a beautiful post about my incredible house, somewhere down the road)! I showed Rob this post and he looked at my dad and goes, "your dad was wearing that same outfit today." And he was! Amazing how some things never change! Miss you Erika- hope to see you soon!!!

I knew you'd be able to pull out the old school pictures. The oldest pictures I can find are 2006... maybe 2004... how pathetic! A great post and great pictures. I really love the "Get in Shape Girl" one the very best. I still remember {like it was yesterday} when DB shaved off that mustache... it was as shocking to us as it was to him. I'm glad he's chosen not to grow it back. LYDD
