{reposting this, after I deleted it for the 3rd time}
Early this yesterday morning I spent well over an hour compiling a beautiful and informative post on the obvious common theme in these images below.
Then I went to the top of the post and put my cursor beside the first image and hit "enter"... thank you typepad... every single time I do this, my computer freezes and says "not responding", I then lose the post.
I think there should be an "autodraft" every 4 minutes, Typepad, are you listening? Same thing happens when I spell check... ahhh.
That being said, the sources on the following images are uber-important and are mostly from Southern Accents, NIBS (thanks Martha B), Style Court (thank you Courtney), and Desire to Inspire. Because I am on the verge of breaking my computer and having a complete and total break down, I hope you can have mercy* on me... if you have specific questions leave a comment and I'll dig up more info for you.
What do you think? Could you sleep encompassed with fabric at night?
I could! I love a little nest... and I love fabric. My dilemma would be that I'd want one look for summer and one look for winter, which could get pricey.
Maybe someday!
*- nothing is worse than a blogger who uses images and doesn't reference the source, I hate to be that person. Each image is 'saved as' their source, so most of the above images, if you right click 'save as'- your computer will show you the source in the file name... it might be in my weird "code" language with abbreviations... but it's a shot. If I wasn't posting this for the 3rd time and if I had nothing else to do today, I'd go thru and relink all of them... seriously, you want to know source- leave comment and I'll dig it out.
It's not just typepad - blogger can make me absolutely crazy - and was not allowing me to edit once something was posted (that is fixed.) I actually like the crediting system you developed! And, yes, I like the curtains, but maybe I just want to hide from my children.

erika,
each time i tour phillips manor right here in tarrytown, i am smitten with the draped 4 poster bed all in a indigo linen print and smile to myself thinking how many would be piled in that bed, sleeping upright, just to stay warm. historically, the warmth provided inspired the design. being a practical gal, I too would need sheer for summer and something heavy for winter.
for now, my dog keeps my quite cozy! argh!

Yes, I could sleep in one of those draped beds! Of course, I would not look forward to maintaining the dust that might accumulate on them :(

I would create a canopy in my room if it were not for the angled cathedral ceiling. Boo hoo.

i think the bunkbed one would be fabulous for a beach or mountain house with limited rooms but plenty of common room to entertain a family and friends for a week(end)...the curtains would provide just enough privacy for the kiddos/tweeners or single adults you could pile 4 or 6 of them in that room! brilliant, bookmarked!

I'm with Beki... as beautiful as all of these are, I'd have to remove and wash once a week because of dust and DOG HAIR! I'm too lazy I guess. Wish I wasn't.

I think my favorites are the 5th and 7th... so glad you re-posted this! I didn't think I liked drapery around a bed, but now I love it! I too would need different sets for different seasons though...

Its like the ultimate luxery isn't it! I'd love it! Especially a heavy fabric for winter! And you'll save in the summer look on your winter electricity bill ;-)

I'd like to know all your sources, please :)
Actually, while I LOVE the way they look, I don't know that I could sleep in the dust bag it would create. My house gets crazy dusty, so I'm forever cleaning and cleaning. This would be one more thing to add to the list. Biggest mistake of moving into a house built in 1926, not having the air ducts cleaned prior to moving in. I'll never make that mistake again!

Erika, first I have to tell you that I just discovered your blog last week and I can't get enough of it - you have totally inspried me and frankly I'm not getting my "real" work done because I keep immersing myself in your ideas and pictures. I just had a meeting with the lady who is putting together some pillows and dog beds for me and after agonizing over my fabric choices she told me that our favorite has been discontinued. Do you have any sources who carry discontinued patterns? We don't need much, just for a few throw pillows. I'm attaching a pic of the pattern - Any help or ideas would be most welcome. http://www.robertallendesign.com/trade/fabric_detail.aspx?product=122011

Hi -
you have a lovely blog - found it through house Of Turquoise, but I am having trouble getting your pics to open on this page - either as popups or separate tabs, I just see the list of names. Is there some secret? Does typepad not work with a current version of Firefox?

For me, I live out of my car… which means I live out of my cheap fashion handbags, too. I need one with a lot of size, tons of pockets and that will last. Make sure to check the stitching and handle joints. And when you’re not using them, make sure to keep them in a cheap Brand wallets. Good quality items should last, and they will if you care for them properly. http:///www.freewholesale.net
