I used to* sketch, draw, and paint.
This isn't a great sketch (I have better ones at home)... but I was just thinking about sketching and this was one of the few in my computer here at the office.
I went to Mike Lin's Graphic Workshop during college. It was the best creative thing I've ever done for me. I learned so much in his 2-day workshop. If ever you want to learn more I highly recommend this class.
This is what sparked my sketchy post.
*- I got really busy somewhere along the way and have lost patience with myself. Maybe I should start back slow? Patricia is so encouraging... maybe I'll sketch a house. Sketching a house sort of contradicts starting out slow... oh well.
Your sketch is so whimsical and adorable, Erika! You should definitely do it more often, you're so good at it.

I love sketches! It's too bad people (designers) don't do more of them, now that CAD programs are so popular. I also love hand drafting - a lost art in my opinion.
Love your sketch and the sketching blog. I'm going to dig out my sketch book now! : )

I posted about sketching (or lack thereof) not too long ago. Different topic completely however. Yours are divine, mine... not so much. Ha!

How funny I too went to Mike Lin's Graphic Workshop in college, except I went to the 2 week one in Kansas. Quite a crazy trip that was!

I remember hearing about that workshop when I was in school. Drawing never has been my strong point and now that I work in cad all day long taking the NCIDQ in October is starting to freak me out.

This is lovely. You ooze talent. I bet when you get a paper cut your blood comes out the perfect shade of red with exquisite little graphic designs in it.
I'll give you the perspective of a mom: your sketches will be one of the greatest gifts you will be able to give your children someday. Save every last one of them. What a cool mom you will be!

I am feeling the SAME way. As a child I used to draw for hours - there wasn't much to do back then! Now I've become too impatient...how disappointing...must get back the fire!
