sketchy

Sketch_02

Pic_27

I used to* sketch, draw, and paint.

This isn't a great sketch (I have better ones at home)... but I was just thinking about sketching and this was one of the few in my computer here at the office.

I went to Mike Lin's Graphic Workshop during college. It was the best creative thing I've ever done for me.  I learned so much in his 2-day workshop.  If ever you want to learn more I highly recommend this class.

This is what sparked my sketchy post.

*- I got really busy somewhere along the way and have lost patience with myself. Maybe I should start back slow? Patricia is so encouraging... maybe I'll sketch a house. Sketching a house sort of contradicts starting out slow... oh well.

Your sketch is so whimsical and adorable, Erika! You should definitely do it more often, you're so good at it.

yummy bathroom...as awlays! thanks for sharing both pictures.

always i mean, oops

Now, that is a great sketch of a great bathroom (yours??). Keep on sketching. Great sketch blog too!

man, suzanne's good isn't she?

I love sketches! It's too bad people (designers) don't do more of them, now that CAD programs are so popular. I also love hand drafting - a lost art in my opinion.

Love your sketch and the sketching blog. I'm going to dig out my sketch book now! : )

i love to sketch. it was never my strongest quality, but a talent i hope to continue to develop better.
love your sketch! and that blog is great!

I love your sketch erika!!!! I was an art major in college so I should be doing more of it- need to get some new watercolors and colored pencils!

I posted about sketching (or lack thereof) not too long ago. Different topic completely however. Yours are divine, mine... not so much. Ha!

your post made me want to get my sketchbook out...i love to draw, so why don't i do more of it? your bathroom sketch looks great!

How funny I too went to Mike Lin's Graphic Workshop in college, except I went to the 2 week one in Kansas. Quite a crazy trip that was!

way to sketch it erika! love that you shared this one!
oh, please do sketch your home and show us! love to see what you do! creating and inspiring an artful life is a great way to live.

I remember hearing about that workshop when I was in school. Drawing never has been my strong point and now that I work in cad all day long taking the NCIDQ in October is starting to freak me out.

This is lovely. You ooze talent. I bet when you get a paper cut your blood comes out the perfect shade of red with exquisite little graphic designs in it.

I'll give you the perspective of a mom: your sketches will be one of the greatest gifts you will be able to give your children someday. Save every last one of them. What a cool mom you will be!

Oh my gosh....Mike Lin...I'm soooo jealous!

Thanks for the link by the way!

I am feeling the SAME way. As a child I used to draw for hours - there wasn't much to do back then! Now I've become too impatient...how disappointing...must get back the fire!
